1. The Full IVF Cycle
The IVF cycle will involve the ovulation induction, egg retrieval, and embryo transfer. In addition, the cost of the cycle should include all pre- and post-procedure blood tests and ultrasounds.
Across the country, an IVF cycle typically costs somewhere between $12,000 and $15,000. Patients can schedule a consultation at our practice to find out how much their IVF cycle may cost.
2. Medications
Fertility medications are used to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs, trigger ovulation, and support the lining of the uterus. The dosage and amount of time that the medications are taken depends on different factors, including the women’s age and her own response to the fertility medications.
In general, most IVF patients can expect to pay somewhere between $3,000 and $5,000 for IVF medications.
3. Additional Fertility Services
Some patients choose to add additional services to their IVF treatment plan. These may include:
- ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection): In this technique, a single sperm is injected into the egg to improve the chances of fertilization. ICSI may be recommended to patients in which male factor infertility is a problem, or for couples that have undergone failed IVF cycles.
- (PGS) Preimplantation genetic screening: This test screens potential embryos for various diseases, genetic disorders, and chromosomal abnormalities. This service may be right for patients with a family history of genetic diseases.
- Gender selection: We can perform PGS to determine the sex of the embryos.
- The use of an egg donor: Our doctors can help you select the right egg donor for your IVF procedure.
- Surrogacy: We can help couples find the right gestational surrogate.
All of these services would add additional fees to the IVF treatment plan.
4. Embryo Storage Fees
Some patients have additional embryos that can be cryopreserved after IVF treatment. This involves storage fees to keep the embryos viable. Prior to undergoing your IVF cycle, we will have you review and sign paperwork regarding the storage and future use of any embryos.
5. Future Frozen Embryo Transfer
If you have frozen embryos, you may wish to undergo another embryo transfer procedure. This is an option if IVF did not work the first time, or if you wish to add to your family. A future embryo transfer procedure is not as expensive as a full IVF cycle, but it will be an additional cost.
